She is a beauty in every sense of the word. From her golden curls to her perfectly crinkled nose... yes this little girl embodies all things lovely and good. This session was full of playing, exploring, and laughter. It was exactly how I love for my time with a family to be... FUN. I had a blast shooting these images and almost even more fun editing putting together these selections to show off my time with the fabulous Rosenwood family.

These are the sweet moments that I can't resist.

"The best part of beauty is that which no picture can express." -Sir Francis Bacon
Part of what made the session with Lauren so fun, was that Megan came along too! This is a girl that I just met, yet her warmth and laughter made my camera fall in love from the get go. Megan's easy confidence truly radiates through each of these images, and the perfect glow of the evening helped to match the mood of the session. There is practically nothing I love more than capturing and celebrating the beauty that I see in others... it brings me great joy.

Come to the edge.
We might fall.
Come to the edge.
It's too high!
Come to the edge!
And they came,
and he pushed,
and they flew.
-- Christopher Logue
It's hard to believe that its been over 5 years since I first met this special young lady, miss Lauren Seitz, and her family. I was working at Lost Valley Ranch, they were guests. We sat together at their first dinner and little did I know the role that their family would play in my life. Several months after that first meeting, we connected again in Charlotte. I had just moved and was feeling a little lost and alone... so they welcomed me into their home, shared the warmth of their laughter, and helped to encourage me on my way.
Now, it's wild to consider that Lauren has made her way through high school and is now on her way towards college. It's her turn to fly. And I have no doubt that this incredible lady will do just that....

Ross, Bristol and I are headed up to the mountains this weekend and I'm pretty pumped about the whole situation... especially considering the forecast is calling for snow tomorrow. For a gal who has a love affair with jackets, vest, scarves and all things cozy, snow = giddy school-girl excitement. Yes, I might have even packed my pumpkin spice candle to burn while we are snuggled up on the couch. I'm doing a special shoot tomorrow morning that involves 2 of my favorite people and their 2 pups, so there is a lot for me to be excited about. Until then... we're off!
**thanks again to Sharon Clark for this photo since shots of Ross and I together are so few and far between!

"I will only say now that elegance must be the right combination of distinction, naturalness, care and simplicity." - Christian Dior
I met Chrissy at the Duke Mansion in Charlotte last week for her bridal portrait (you may recognize her from her engagement session here), and I knew that these were going to be stunning because she is such a gorgeous girl... but once she stepped into her dress... even I was blown away. Since Chrissy used to be a dancer there is such a refined, delicate quality about the way she moves and even holds her body. Her friend Erin (who came along to help out and just so happens to also be fabulous) and I just could not stop raving... seriously. The more we raved, the more Chrissy just worked it in her dress and looked nothing short of legendary. We "may" have even channeled Rachel Zoe momentarily and uttered "I die" a couple times. Yes, it was THAT fabulous.
There are just a few short weeks to go before the BIG day and I can't wait to see everything come together. Let the countdown begin!
