As if I really needed any further reason to prove my love for the West, especially Colorado, here are just a few.
Well, these little punks are 3 good reasons wrapped into one set of brothers. Tanner, Walker and Landon are cowboys through and through. You can see it in their eyes.

The wildflowers. After a rainy July, everything is lush and gorgeous right now. This is one of my favorite spots by Goose Creek at Lost Valley.
And the horses. I know that there are horses everywhere, but I'm pretty sure that Lost Valley is the only place that you can find a horse standing under an American flag and a basketball hoop simultaneously... and I love it.

This is a family that we have been blessed to know here in Fayetteville and they have touched my heart in unspeakable ways. I loved getting to let them play in front of my camera again (for other pics see here and here) earlier this week. I beg you to read these words from Karee... and you will see the beauty, inside and out, of this precious family....
The things that make this stage of life so difficult are also the things that make it so beautiful and so good. And while sometimes it feels like the difficult parts of this season will never end, at the same time it feels that my children are transforming, changing, and growing before my very eyes. And for as often as I think that I want to freeze time and enjoy them at this age just a bit longer, most of the time I feel like my life is on fast forward. I find myself watching them, trying to freeze in my memory the beauty of their smiles, giggles, crazy dance moves, and childish mannerisms. I find myself marveling at how they seem to grow up and change so much from one day to the next. I find myself becoming less worried about keeping to a perfect schedule and more worried about enjoying being a bit spontaneous. I find myself a bit less concerned about the perfect night time routines and more concerned about snuggling up with them and enjoying listening to their night time conversations. I find myself enjoying their loud singing in the grocery store instead of scolding them or wishing the whole time they'd just be a bit (or a lot) quieter. These are precious times. Somehow I know I'll look back on this as some of the most amazing years of my life.

"Ever since I was young, I never really understood anything about the
world. And I never understood anything that happened in my life. The
only thing that ever made any sense to me was you. And how I felt about
you. That's all I've ever known. And that's enough for the rest of my
life."
They have had eyes for each other since middle school.
They are getting married this fall and I can't wait to be a part of their amazing celebration.
They swore up and down that they were NOT photogenic.... I can't wait to show off how I totally proved them wrong. I love it when I get to do that.

Culling through some of the Towne and Reese catalog images this morning, I just couldn't help but share these 2 that I happen to be in love with. The fact that Emily, the model, is impossibly gorgeous doesn't hurt either.... seriously?!? GOR-GEOUS. She is one of the nicest, coolest people to boot as well! Anyways, the blessing of shooting for a brand is that we capture tons and tons of images, the curse is that many of them are edited for various reasons. So, this is my chance to let these 2 images have their shining glory :)

Several months ago I had the distinct honor of photographing a very special event that was just featured in City View. This was so interesting to shoot mostly because I had NO clue about what an arangetram was, or just how beautiful and significant it would be. And what, you might be wondering IS an arangetram... well, is a 2 hour solo, a coming-of-age ritual dance within the Indian culture (for more details feel free to click here). Family and friends flew in from India, there were caterers, make-up artists, a live orchestra, photographers and videographers, and months of preparation involved. If you want to see a video, here is a great link to give you some idea of the dance itself.
More than anything I walked away from being a part of this experience simply humbled to be allowed such an intimate perspective on this type of an event, and thankful to have witnessed something so exquisite and culturally unique.
