"Love is the answer
at least for most of the questions in my heart, like
Why are we here? And where do we go?
And how come it's so hard?
It's not always easy and
sometimes life can be deceiving
I'll tell you one thing, it's always better when we're together"
- J. Johnson
Now, I'm quite aware that having a 2 year old and a 10 week old isn't always a walk in the park, but watching them cherish those little girls and build the traditions of their little family is an incredible thing. I'm also becoming quite aware that having 2 small kids requires a seemingly infinite amount of unselfish love... and that concept of unselfish love brought me back to an old journal entry where I wrote down this quote by Thomas Merton... "True happiness is found in unselfish love. A love which increases in proportion as it is shared." It is truly my prayer that these images will always bring Mark and Shannon back to this stage of life where they lavished their unselfish love upon each other and their little girls... and I know that love will come around to be their blessing and their delight as their little family grows.
these pictures are a beautiful "summary" of your stay. and i love your sweet words/tribute. i know the time is such a treasured blessing. i love the full family shots, but i have to say my fave might be the sweet black and white of the two little girls. they are just too cute! and clearly photographed by the best :)
(07.27.09 @ 08:55 AM)You can def. tell through your work how much you enjoy your precious nieces! With cuteness like that i'm sure its not hard at all!!! :)
(07.27.09 @ 01:06 PM)Such fun to see the new Noon...She sure is a ringer for the Noon clan! Great photos - feel like I have visited them, too. You have a gift and I am so glad you have found it.
(08.14.09 @ 10:19 PM)HOLY cow is she a "nooner" or what! LOVE the photos!
(09.01.09 @ 11:08 AM)As I I thought back to last spring, when I was in a place of really beginning to pursue my passion of photography...and how since then I've had numerous conversations with clients, or friends, about the important of following your passion (no matter what that might be) and I felt like this quote was more than perfectly appropriate. So take a daring leap. Inspire someone.
when we focus our energy towards constructing a passionate, meaningful life, we are tossing a pebble ripple effect of inspiration. when one person follows a dream, tries something new or takes a daring leap, everyone nearby feels that energy, and before too long they are making their own daring leaps and inspiring yet another circle.
