Hello and welcome. I'm a lifestyle/editorial photographer now based in Fayetteville, NC, and working regularly with clients in both Charlotte and Raleigh. My goal is to capture the beauty of life as you know it. My passion is to create images that celebrate life and emotion with a fresh and modern style. I'm happy to share my journey with you here on my site.

Available for travel assignments and adventure, always.
Meet Molly. When you first meet her, she is lovely. Then you see her personality, and you see that she is beautiful. Molly wanted photos to give to her husband as a celebration of their first wedding anniversary. She wanted documentation for the place that they moved for his job, got married, and have enjoyed being newlyweds. We talked a lot about the challenges of moving and starting over for your husband's job...and yes, there are lots of challenges, but its part of the story... and its so much better because it becomes woven into the story of who you are together.

"Love is the answer
at least for most of the questions in my heart, like
Why are we here? And where do we go?
And how come it's so hard?
It's not always easy and
sometimes life can be deceiving
I'll tell you one thing, it's always better when we're together"

If you have seen all the various images of my nieces that I've posted over the past few weeks, its pretty clear to see that I enjoyed some incredible time with my brother, Mark, and his newly expanded family out in Missoula, MT. This opportunity to stay with them for an extended period of time while Ross was away at training really allowed me to step into their everyday lives. It's cool to share in the "daily-ness" of life with family that lives so far away because I feel like it really helps me to connect more with them and know about those little nuances that you don't usually pick up on during a weekend visit, and something that I love most about Mark and Shannon is their ability to be authentic!

Now, I'm quite aware that having a 2 year old and a 10 week old isn't always a walk in the park, but watching them cherish those little girls and build the traditions of their little family is an incredible thing. I'm also becoming quite aware that having 2 small kids requires a seemingly infinite amount of unselfish love... and that concept of unselfish love brought me back to an old journal entry where I wrote down this quote by Thomas Merton... "True happiness is found in unselfish love. A love which increases in proportion as it is shared." It is truly my prayer that these images will always bring Mark and Shannon back to this stage of life where they lavished their unselfish love upon each other and their little girls... and I know that love will come around to be their blessing and their delight as their little family grows.

The Hayes family has a special place in my heart because they were some of my very first clients!  I've loved the time I've spent with them over our several sessions together and this time the extended family decided to join in the fun. It was a deliciously misty morning out on their property at Badin Lake and I believe there is just something magical about kids playing by a gorgeous body of water.

As I I thought back to last spring, when I was in a place of really beginning to pursue my passion of photography...and how since then I've had numerous conversations with clients, or friends, about the important of following your passion (no matter what that might be) and I felt like this quote was more than perfectly appropriate. So take a daring leap. Inspire someone.

when we focus our energy towards constructing a passionate, meaningful life, we are tossing a pebble ripple effect of inspiration. when one person follows a dream, tries something new or takes a daring leap, everyone nearby feels that energy, and before too long they are making their own daring leaps and inspiring yet another circle.

This is a woman and photographer who inspired me long before I ever thought that I could be a photographer. She inspired us to get our great dane Bristol. She is the woman behind the BELIEVE project. Take a look at her work... look through the archives.... and I promise that you will leave inspired on so many levels.

And Erin Vey will be in Charlotte!!!!!  She has time for 2 clients August 22 and 23. My heart is crushed because I will in Mississippi for a wedding, but if you love your dog and want to experience a session with the BEST dog photographer out there. Seize this opportunity, I beg you!

This is an image from her site, of her love... Gracie.
