Hello and welcome. I'm a lifestyle/editorial photographer now based in Fayetteville, NC, and working regularly with clients in both Charlotte and Raleigh. My goal is to capture the beauty of life as you know it. My passion is to create images that celebrate life and emotion with a fresh and modern style. I'm happy to share my journey with you here on my site.

Available for travel assignments and adventure, always.
Just a little tease from my session with Jen and Chris Hunt. You may recognize these shoes from her blog. The exciting news is... there is so much more to come and Jen is stunning. No question about that.

I'm off to the Highlands this weekend to shoot a wedding, and the best part is that my hubs, Ross, gets to come along and hang out! Happy weekend!

Earlier this week I had a little adventure and traveled to Asheville, NC for a session with little man Sam. I got to explore downtown on my own and then played with Sam and his family at the Botanical Gardens that are just down the road... we talked, walked, roamed and just had a really sweet time in general. This session was just a good reminder to me about why I typically work the way that I do... no rushing, no agenda... just relaxing enough to let everyone just be who they are... and capturing THAT. I'm head over heels in love with portraits of the perfectly imperfect ways that we live life. These images are a delicious reminder of the beauty I see in everyday life between a family.

I also was struck by this quote and felt like it fit with my wandering adventure in Asheville and my mentality towards photography in general...

"I didn't become a photographer to have a job. I did it to find things out. I wanted the chance/excuse/vehicle to wander around, to approach strangers, to go down unfamiliar streets, and to be changed by doing so." - Sean Kernan

Thank you little Sam for being such a light to my day!

When I took these shots I was reminded of one of my favorite childhood author and illustrator... CW Anderson. I love how images can trigger memories... that is one of the reasons why my passion for photography runs so deep. I can look back at photographs and floods of emotion can be triggered with one look. Amazing.

You have to pardon my lack of posting.... it's almost as if I have too many photo goodies to share that I'm a little overwhelmed with it all! On top of the fact that we are moving in less than 2 weeks... life just seems to be flying by in a blur. Alas, it is VERY important for me to share some really happy and beautiful moments from the 2 final full sessions that I had in Fayetteville. Seriously, just looking at the images fills me with a crazy happy joyful feeling... I hope that it does the same for you.

Meet the Mannell family. Um, gorgeous.

And now meet the Toohey family. I spotted the most dreamy field of flowers on my way to their house and am absolutely in love with how well it fit them.

It's crazy and fun to be at a stage of life when I'm watching some of my best friends from high school growing up and starting to grow their own families. What an incredible thing! Well, last week I had the chance to hang out with my dear friends Kyle and Ryan Tucker and their too-cute-for-words little families. I've loved growing up with these guys, and their family really loved on me over the years too! It's been such a delight watching them date, then marry their wives (who I ADORE!!!), and now become these incredibly proud papas. It's awesome.

Kyle and Sarah's little boy Owen is truly a boy after his father's heart because he automatically made a beeline for the putting green! Kyle has been passionate about the game of golf for as long as I have known him, so seeing their family playing out here just seemed so... right. Owen got a big kick out having the run of the place. Thank you Kyle and Sarah for letting me capture you and your little man!

Ryan and Angie's little boy Noah is pretty much the cool kid in town, and I think that he is well aware that Owen looks up to him. Noah's sweet spirit easily shines through his bright blue eyes. He is not only going to have a little cousin looking up to him... but also a little brother or sister pretty soon! He's got a lot to look forward to in his little life! Ryan and Angie - thank you for wearing cowboy boots!

It's pretty clear that Owen and Noah are 2 peas in a pod, buddies, pals, and cousins.
