Hello and welcome. I'm a lifestyle/editorial photographer now based in Fayetteville, NC, and working regularly with clients in both Charlotte and Raleigh. My goal is to capture the beauty of life as you know it. My passion is to create images that celebrate life and emotion with a fresh and modern style. I'm happy to share my journey with you here on my site.

Available for travel assignments and adventure, always.
Four years ago Ginny started a bible study through her church's youth group and four years ago, this small group of girls started to share their lives with each other. Now they are all going to be graduating from high school in a matter of weeks. Wow. Ginny has really seen these girls grow up... she has seem their laughter, tears, joy and frustration... and she has been their "fearless leader" through it all. Just watching them all interact throughout the shoot it was clear to me that there is an easy friendship between them all... a genuine sense of being truly known. And it brought me back to thinking about my closest friends and what I treasure most about them is that sense of being "known" and just loved for who I am, there is such delicious comfort in that. I love that with friends who know me and my story, they can just get it when I'm laughing hysterically at some odd event in my day... I don't have to give the whole story behind the story as to why. I love that with friends who know me I can just come and lay bare my heart aches and struggles. So all that being said, I'm particularly fond of these images, because I feel like they capture the sweetness of friendship. And that's most certainly worth celebrating (and photographing!).

The first time I laid eyes on Greer, she was just a little chunk of a babe... smiling all the time, wooing anyone who might happen to look her way. It's hard to believe that she is almost 2 now! As I sat and edited these images, I found myself humming the song "Bubbly Toes"... because it just fits.

"It's as simple as something that nobody knows that her eyes are as big
as her bubbly toes ....
It's as common as something that nobody knows that her beauty will
follow wherever she goes...."

Thanks to her parents Chad and Reagan for making time for a session during their short visit back to Charlotte from Columbia! They are just about the nicest couple that you have ever met and I'm super excited to meet their cutie #2 that is on the way. Hopefully I'll get the chance to showcase their little man once he is born... but until then, I'm giddy happy to capture Greer's bubbly toes.

Little Karsyn is turning ONE soon and meeting a sweetie like her makes me step back and realize how incredible that first year of life truly can be. Seeing her crawl, grin and interact makes her seem so grown up... so much like a little girl, and not a baby any more.  It's wild to consider what a tiny bundle of life she was when they brought her home from the hospital 12 months ago... so helpless and dependent in every way possible. As I talked with her mom and dad, Kelley and Brandon, we all marveled at how she is turning into her own person what a miracle that is to watch as a parent. Hard to believe how quickly that first year can fly by, so that is where I step in, to stop time... even if just in one image... an image that captures this  big milestone in Karsyn's little life. I always tell my clients that it is my hope and prayer that the images I capture are a blessing to their family for many years to come. I love to think about these images getting used in graduation memory books, wedding slide shows, and just being passed down from generation to generation. Perhpas that is a lofty dream of mine, but that is my dream nonetheless. So... here is to Karsyn's first year, may there be many more years of growth, love and laughter for this little beauty. Thanks for letting me freeze time, if only for a few frames in my camera.

Starting on Friday morning I had a bit of a marathon weekend of photography, and yes, I must admit that I pretty much collapsed in a heap last night, but I would not have traded it for the world. I had the best time! Shooting with Tamara Lackey was amazing, the wedding could not have been more beautiful, and the best part is that the wedding was only a portion of my weekend fun! That being said, part of what I love about finding my passion in photography is that it is very "life-giving" for me... I am truly energized by it and even after 3 days of shooting I'm still able to loose track of time in the midst of a session. What a gift. I always thought that being able to truly love all the pieces and parts your job was an illusion... some urban myth created to frustrate me, ha! But now I know it is actually possible, and I can do nothing more than be incredibly thankful for all the steps that have brought me to where I am today. Pursue what you love...!!!!

Now, I do have quite a hefty amount of editing to wade through in the next few days, but I wanted to share at least 2 images from the weekend. Greer and Karsyn are a couple of the cuties that I was able to spend some time with. Ah, the joy of a child.

It's a gorgeous Friday afternoon and I just had to share some of my excitement for the weekend! I've got a few family sessions and a rehearsal dinner tonight that I'm very much looking forward to, but the thing that has butterflies in my belly is the fact that tomorrow I'll be shooting a wedding alongside Tamara Lackey -- ahhhh! She is a photographer who I have admired for a long time now! Yes, its true. I'm still befuddled how the whole thing came about and the fact that she would even consider a little newbie like me! Most of the thanks goes her her associate photographer Rachel Garrison (also an incredibly talented photographer), who just so happens to be an old team mate of mine from the UNC crew team. We reconnected via Facebook, then finally over lunch a few weeks ago and it was awesome seeing that both of us had been lead to find/pursue our passion for photography since leaving Carolina. On top of all that I've got the huge-mongo 70-200mm/f 2.8 lens in my hands for the next few days, so it will be interesting to see how it is to work with such a monster of a zoom lens since I primarily shoot prime (50mm/35mm/28mm). So all that being said, HAPPY Friday... HAPPY weekend.... and as if that's not enough to be happy about, the photo below should do the trick :)
