Hello and welcome. I'm a lifestyle/editorial photographer now based Grand Forks, North Dakota of all places. After starting my business in Charlotte, NC and bouncing around the Southeast, we are embarking on a new adventure in a a whole new part of the country. My goal is to capture the beauty of life as you know it. My passion is to create images that celebrate life and emotion with a fresh and modern style. I'm happy to share my journey with you here on my site.

Available for travel assignments and adventure, always.
This is why I love my job. Added bonus for the day: it finally feels like fall. Ahhh.

Thank you for starting this day with such beauty and joy Miss Lillian.

It's Wednesday today and on Friday it will be October. How is this possible?!? I knew that the month of September was going to fly, but goodness gracious how did fly by SO quickly? I've been blessed to be busy, so I apologize for being light on the blogging but there is much to be shared!

In the midst of work, I've been trying to finish up some little projects around the house and one of those projects involves somehow covering the vast amounts of empty wall space in our house. I've clung to the "simple" look for long enough and it's time to make some decisions. I want to order several canvases, as well as ordering some for various birthday and Christmas gifts, so I pulled together this "mood board" of sorts to help me lay out a few of the options. I'm considering opening this up to those of you who may be wanting some fun new artwork for your home too... so take a peek.... and feel free to shoot me an email if you are interested!

if only I had more wall space....I might have to get the horse picture for Maddie's wall. On a side not, Burger Up was just featured in the new issue of Garden and Gun. Your work could easily be featured in there.

What can I say about Nashville, TN? Well, I can start by saying that I fall in love just a little more with every visit. Between the amazing restaurants, coffee shops, and boutiques... I've been blessed to meet and work with some of the BEST clients ever! On top of all that I just find Nashville to have this fun and funky vibe that makes me feel like it's a home away from home. Oh and I'm sorry, but I just have to mention that my rental car was a bright cherry red Impala, which cracked me up on multiple levels... but anyone who knows me, knows that I hate drawing any form of attention to myself (I'm sworn to only drive gray cars for my whole life). So I couldn't help but giggle to myself as I darted around town in my sweet ride. Oh my.

Okay, it's overwhelming to try to sum up my time, so in addition to sharing a couple favorites from each of my sessions I wanted to share links to some of my faaaaavorite places to eat, work and hang out....

A new find on this trip is the FAB-U-LOUS restaurant called Burger Up. Please eat here if you live anywhere near Nashville or are ever traveling through... deeeelish in every sense of the word.

Other favorites were The Frothy Monkey, Ugly Mugs, Fido. Marche, The Silly Goose, Las Paletas. My preggo belly was in heaven! There are many things that I have grown to love about Fayetteville but fabulous food and shopping options aren't in that mix, so I think that I appreciate them ALL the more!

Okay, so a huge thank you goes out to Heather and Noel for inviting me back to photograph their precious girl Fisher (who I photographed this spring here) and rounding up some other friends who wanted to work with me as well. These 2 are some of the coolest folks to work with and I'm so thankful that they are clients and friends. I was dying over the images we got of Fisher is this antique wash tub. Priceless.

And darling Taylor, who I was getting to photograph for the second time as well... oh my, you may remember her precious face and gorgeous eyes from last time here. This session was all about her and her mom, which had me on the verge of tears a few times just from the tenderness of their interaction!

I posted a tiny taste of this shoot a few days ago and am excited to show off a few more favorites from the session! One of the many things I love about these images is that you can look at them and have no clue about the fact that it was about 127 degrees outside! Everyone STILL looks amazing, and that is quite an accomplishment I think :) I'm also considering having Kelly be a fashion consultant for my family clients since I love how she dressed everyone to "go" together but not be too matchy-matchy... that can be a tricky task and I'd like to offer a hearty CHEERS! to the final product.

Thank you thank you to the Twedell crew, in all your gorgeous/handsome fabulous-ness. I hope that you adore these images as much as I do!

The quote of the day:

"Hello! I love you, I get to marry you TODAY!" - Ross Turnmire

This quote SO perfectly sums up the joy and love that were flooding out of Katie and Ross' wedding day. I was blessed to be surrounded by their family and friends who shared in this gorgeous celebration that took place in Morganton NC. And when they pulled away from the reception that same joy filled my heart because as  beautiful and wonderful  every detail was... I know that, above all, they have a life together to look forward to. And that, in my humble opinion, is the best part of a wedding day.
