Hello and welcome. I'm a lifestyle/editorial photographer now based in Fayetteville, NC, and working regularly with clients in both Charlotte and Raleigh. My goal is to capture the beauty of life as you know it. My passion is to create images that celebrate life and emotion with a fresh and modern style. I'm happy to share my journey with you here on my site.

Available for travel assignments and adventure, always.
If you were all alone in the universe with no one to talk to, no one with which to share the beauty of the stars, to laugh with, to touch, what would be your purpose in life? It is other life, it is love, which gives your life meaning. This is harmony. We must discover the joy of each other, the joy of challenge, the joy of growth. -Mitsugi Saotome

There is something electric in the interaction between Rusty and Bekah. Just observing them made me get all choked up because they are filled with the utmost love and joy at this exciting stage of their relationship. Since we weren't ever able to get engagement photos, we snagged these shots around downtown Rome, GA yesterday before the rehearsal dinner. They too met at Lost Valley Ranch, but it wasn't until several years later when they also worked alongside each other at Vista Verde Ranch that something clicked and their relationship shifted. Listening to their friends and family talk about them as individuals, and as a couple, it is perfectly evident that their lives were most certainly meant to be intertwined together.  Since Rusty has been a dear and faithful friend of mine for years, this union is particularly sweet to watch. I have a feeling that I might be shedding a few tears of happiness for them as I shoot the wedding today!

Yesterday I said goodbye to TX (and Ross, sniffle sniffle) then proceeded to drive across Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama before I cross into Georgia today. I'll be shooting a very special wedding outside Atlanta tomorrow then joining up with the lovely ladies of Southern Proper for a shoot that is keeping me up at night I'm so stoked about it. I feel very blessed to be so busy in the final stretch before our little family is reunited at home... finally!!!

Margaret is a beauty and there is no doubt about that.

Recently when a stranger came up to her and proceeded to gush about just how beautiful she was, she flipped her hair back across her shoulder and stated, "And I'm smart too."

You can't know where you are going, until you understand where you have been
-or something like that!

Right now I'm in San Antonio and it's raining. Not just a little sprinkle, but a serious "everything is bigger in TX" downpour... and I'm so incredibly humbled and thankful for the good weather I have enjoyed throughout my travels. It makes me appreciate days like this, when I get to hunker down and enjoy the good excuse to stay in bed just a little bit longer than usual.

Since the rain is making shooting an impossibility today, I wanted to take the chance to share some iphone images from my travels over the past several weeks. I've tried to embrace Chase Jarvis' sentiment that the best camera is the one you have with you.

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.  - Melody Beattie

As I ventured across the country for the Lost Valley book project, I was blessed to spend some time in Kathy Smith's kitchen. Kathy is a long time guest of the Ranch and a woman who knows the beauty and impact of true hospitality. Kathy is also known far and wide for generously providing her homemade chocolate chip cookies...and these cookies have communicated messages of love, gratitude, comfort, condolence and care to those who are blessed to receive them.  I felt like it was appropriate to honor her cookie making process, and celebrate how many lives have been touched in some small way by these baked goodies over the years. After all, how often it is the little thoughtful gestures in life that can make the most profound impact?

I'm new to your site. And while I have loved every single portrait that I've seen so far, I'm just amazed by these simple yet beautiful baking shots. They take right back to my grandmother's kitchen and the smell of warm cookies. Your treatment and composition is just right!
