Hello and welcome. I'm a lifestyle/editorial photographer now based Grand Forks, North Dakota of all places. After starting my business in Charlotte, NC and bouncing around the Southeast, we are embarking on a new adventure in a a whole new part of the country. My goal is to capture the beauty of life as you know it. My passion is to create images that celebrate life and emotion with a fresh and modern style. I'm happy to share my journey with you here on my site.

Available for travel assignments and adventure, always.
What can I say about Nashville, TN? Well, I can start by saying that I fall in love just a little more with every visit. Between the amazing restaurants, coffee shops, and boutiques... I've been blessed to meet and work with some of the BEST clients ever! On top of all that I just find Nashville to have this fun and funky vibe that makes me feel like it's a home away from home. Oh and I'm sorry, but I just have to mention that my rental car was a bright cherry red Impala, which cracked me up on multiple levels... but anyone who knows me, knows that I hate drawing any form of attention to myself (I'm sworn to only drive gray cars for my whole life). So I couldn't help but giggle to myself as I darted around town in my sweet ride. Oh my.

Okay, it's overwhelming to try to sum up my time, so in addition to sharing a couple favorites from each of my sessions I wanted to share links to some of my faaaaavorite places to eat, work and hang out....

A new find on this trip is the FAB-U-LOUS restaurant called Burger Up. Please eat here if you live anywhere near Nashville or are ever traveling through... deeeelish in every sense of the word.

Other favorites were The Frothy Monkey, Ugly Mugs, Fido. Marche, The Silly Goose, Las Paletas. My preggo belly was in heaven! There are many things that I have grown to love about Fayetteville but fabulous food and shopping options aren't in that mix, so I think that I appreciate them ALL the more!

Okay, so a huge thank you goes out to Heather and Noel for inviting me back to photograph their precious girl Fisher (who I photographed this spring here) and rounding up some other friends who wanted to work with me as well. These 2 are some of the coolest folks to work with and I'm so thankful that they are clients and friends. I was dying over the images we got of Fisher is this antique wash tub. Priceless.

And darling Taylor, who I was getting to photograph for the second time as well... oh my, you may remember her precious face and gorgeous eyes from last time here. This session was all about her and her mom, which had me on the verge of tears a few times just from the tenderness of their interaction!

I posted a tiny taste of this shoot a few days ago and am excited to show off a few more favorites from the session! One of the many things I love about these images is that you can look at them and have no clue about the fact that it was about 127 degrees outside! Everyone STILL looks amazing, and that is quite an accomplishment I think :) I'm also considering having Kelly be a fashion consultant for my family clients since I love how she dressed everyone to "go" together but not be too matchy-matchy... that can be a tricky task and I'd like to offer a hearty CHEERS! to the final product.

Thank you thank you to the Twedell crew, in all your gorgeous/handsome fabulous-ness. I hope that you adore these images as much as I do!

Just a tiny taste from one of my shoots this weekend. This image really struck a cord in my heart about the unique relationship between mother's and their girls. There is such tenderness and love in this shot... I couldn't help but share.

You can see it in their eyes,
in tender hugs and long good-byes,
a love that only moms and daughters know.

You can see it in their smiles,
through passing years and changing styles,
a friendship that continually seems to grow.

You can see it in their lives,
the joy each one of them derives,
in just knowing that the other one is there..

These next few weeks are going to be a little nutty for me with travel and work, so I will do my best to post and update on everything as it unfolds! I head off to Nashville today and am so excited for so many reasons, but  I have to confess that I'm particularly excited about camping out at the Frothy Monkey for an extended amount of time to work at some point as well as incorporating the imogene+willie  storie into at least one of my sessions!

This is a family that we have been blessed to know here in Fayetteville and they have touched my heart in unspeakable ways. I loved getting to let them play in front of my camera again (for other pics see here and here) earlier this week. I beg you to read these words from Karee... and you will see the beauty, inside and out, of this precious family....

The things that make this stage of life so difficult are also the things that make it so beautiful and so good. And while sometimes it feels like the difficult parts of this season will never end, at the same time it feels that my children are transforming, changing, and growing before my very eyes. And for as often as I think that I want to freeze time and enjoy them at this age just a bit longer, most of the time I feel like my life is on fast forward. I find myself watching them, trying to freeze in my memory the beauty of their smiles, giggles, crazy dance moves, and childish mannerisms.  I find myself marveling at how they seem to grow up and change so much from one day to the next. I find myself becoming less worried about keeping to a perfect schedule and more worried about enjoying being a bit spontaneous. I find myself a bit less concerned about the perfect night time routines and more concerned about snuggling up with them and enjoying listening to their night time conversations. I find myself enjoying their loud singing in the grocery store instead of scolding them or wishing the whole time they'd just be a bit (or a lot) quieter. These are precious times. Somehow I know I'll look back on this as some of the most amazing years of my life.

Sometimes when I'm editing and listening to music at the same time certain songs just seems to fit all too perfectly the images I'm working with. And lovely Leighton, who is clearly adored in every sense of the word, matched up perfectly with Amy Seeley's Beloved lyrics....

you ...
your heart
your hands
your eyes
your dreams

are beloved

your heart
your hands
your eyes ..
and everything that you see in your dreams

beloved
