Hello and welcome. I'm a lifestyle/editorial photographer now based Grand Forks, North Dakota of all places. After starting my business in Charlotte, NC and bouncing around the Southeast, we are embarking on a new adventure in a a whole new part of the country. My goal is to capture the beauty of life as you know it. My passion is to create images that celebrate life and emotion with a fresh and modern style. I'm happy to share my journey with you here on my site.

Available for travel assignments and adventure, always.
Several months ago I had the distinct honor of photographing a very special event that was just featured in City View. This was so interesting to shoot mostly because I had NO clue about what an arangetram was, or just how beautiful and significant it would be. And what, you might be wondering IS an arangetram... well, is a 2 hour solo, a coming-of-age ritual dance within the Indian culture (for more details feel free to click here). Family and friends flew in from India, there were caterers, make-up artists, a live orchestra, photographers and videographers, and months of preparation involved. If you want to see a video, here is a great link to give you some idea of the dance itself.
More than anything I walked away from being a part of this experience simply humbled to be allowed such an intimate perspective on this type of an event, and thankful to have witnessed something so exquisite and culturally unique.

Nothing compares to the simple pleasure of a bike ride.

~John F. Kennedy

I've been hearing about this fabulous vintage tandem bike for quite some time now, so it was particularly fun to shoot this session. Helen and Keith are not only some of the most creative and brilliant people that I know, but they are also proudly welcoming their first little one later this fall. It's been a big year for these two and these images make me happy... I hope they do the same for you.

Nice photos --three on a tandem!. 1968-1969 My late wife and I were first to cross from Atlantic to Pacific on a tandem. I was just searching the web for anything written about us by using the search phrase, "tandem bicycle, John and Katerine" when I found these photos of a younger couple and "Nothing compares to the simple pleasure of a bike ride.. ~John F. Kennedy"!!! Were the ambassadors of the San Diego 200th Aniversary.. I half beli9eved that the photos may have been us., but no. :-( Cheers to the happy young couple
Katherine died March 14, 1990 --- way too soon at age 51.

It was a perfect day
What I'd give if I could find a way to stay Lost in this moment, now
Ain't worried bout tomorrow when your busy livin' in a perfect day

- Lady Antebellum

As Maggie and I walked, talked and shot some fabulous photos... I was struck with the same thought that I am every time I get to hang out with a senior... this is such an amazing, exciting, ever changing stage of life. It is my deepest hope that these images help her to remember and cling to these perfect days. Girl, enjoy these final days as you say goodbye to high school and NC... because before you know it you'll be saying hello to college in Florida! Oh yes, and you are gorgeous girl. I feel compelled to state the obvious :)

This is just a tiny taste of the gorgeous Southern Proper shoot...what an experience. There are many more images that I will be thrilled to share, but I simply could not sit on these for too long without sharing at least a tidbit. HUGE thank you to the belles of SoPro, Reagan and Emmie, as well as Joni Lay from Chocolate Butterbean who also had a hand in the styling.

The brand is a tribute to the romance of the southern preppy lifestyle. Besides their products, a visit to their website introduces you to a world where gentlemen lounge in bow ties and sockless loafers and attending horse races among other things, is considered a way of life. Everything about them is as they say "proper" and of course, preppy.
