A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person.  ~Mignon McLaughlin

You may remember their awesome surprise wedding back in March... it was a marvelous affair. Well, their "engagement photos" were originally postponed due to Philip's broken collar bone and then somehow life happened and I can hardly believe that its been 7 months!  We finally got around to having them play in front of my camera as an ole' married couple, and I have to say that being married looks really REALLY good on them. Gosh they are good looking and just ridiculously fun to photograph.

"Love is a heart that moves... Love moves away from the self and towards the other."
Dan Allander

Whitley and Parke were destined to be together and I am honored and humbled that somehow I got placed smack in the middle of their love story! Literally weeks apart I shot Parke's sister's wedding (Jenny + David) and one of Whitley's best friend's wedding (Reagan + Todd). Amazingly, it was only a matter of weeks after those 2 weddings that Whitley and Parke connected and their divinely blessed whirlwind relationship began!
That being said, what an absolute joy it was for me to watch these two celebrate their marriage, and I honestly don't know if I've ever seen so much downright "giddiness" at a wedding! Whitley was literally glowing... and smiling ALL day long. And Parke....well, Parke's infectious laughter is reflected in almost every image that I captured! I hope and pray all the best for these two remarkable individuals who I know will share an even more remarkable life now that they are united as one through marriage!

Remember Nick and Tina? Well, I simply have to re-state the quote that I used to accompany their engagement shoot because they worked it into their wedding ceremony, and it made my heart smile.

"Ever since I was young, I never really understood anything about the world. And I never understood anything that happened in my life. The only thing that ever made any sense to me was you. And how I felt about you. That's all I've ever known. And that's enough for the rest of my life."

Nick and Tina were blessed with the most gorgeous day to get married outside at the Angus Barn Pavilion in Raleigh, NC and I have to say that I fell in love with the venue. It's perfectly tucked away behind the main restaurant and feels like a destination in and of itself. This is one of those unexpected venues that strikes a unique balance between elegant and rustic, and it just sets the stage for an event to remember!

And this was most certainly one of those unforgettable nights... the sun set perfectly behind Tina and Nick's ceremony and they were able to celebrate with their friends and family well into the sublime North Carolina Fall evening.

We are shaped and fashioned by what we love.
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Claire is a woman who loves and lives passionately... her life has been shaped by these loves, but now most of all by her marriage to her best friend and the best man...James Griffin. Claire and James tied the knot this past weekend in Washington, DC and it was the perfect fall weekend to celebrate them! I have known Claire since we lived together in college and it was SUCH a high honor for be to be IN the wedding, rather than shooting it (but I did loooove watching Jen and Chris Hunt in action!!!). I have been anxious to share her bridal portraits from our session earlier this fall in Chapel Hill and I feel like these are just such a beautiful reflection of who Claire is as a person and who she was as a bride...stunning, breathtaking, and so FULL of life. Just one look at her laughter brings a smile to my own lips. So without any further ado, here she is in all her bridal beauty....

After Alison's bridal portrait, I knew that being a part of her wedding day was going to be something really special. When I pulled up to the chapel on Lake Junaluska, my heart swelled with emotion because it is the most perfectly quaint location. I later found out that the Memorial Chapel was built just a few years after WWII and hundreds of marriages have had their start inside the lovely stone walls... including Alison's parents. Plus, I loved the fact that it is right down the road from where Ross and I got married almost 3 years ago (happy sigh).

As expected, this was an amazing wedding celebration and watching Alison and Nick commit themselves to each other with all their family and friends surrounding them in loving support... well, that is why I do what I do. Thank you Alison and Nick for letting me be a part of your amazing day!
